Kalawa Library and School Project, established in September 2011 as a nonprofit organization in South Dakota, USA, is dedicated to enriching lives by providing essential primary education, computer literacy, teaching resources, and library services to the underserved rural community of Kalawa, Kenya.

Our mission is to provide high-quality education that empowers students to be independent and in control of their education and lives. We prioritize personalized instruction, project-based learning, and a commitment to equity and inclusivity in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.

Vision

Our vision is to transform rural communities like Kalawa, Kenya, through high-quality education that empowers individuals to take active control of their lives and to become stewards of their communities. We prioritize cultural responsiveness, community involvement, and sustainable development.

St. Joseph's Academy

St. Joseph's Academy is the primary focus of the Kalawa Library and School Project. The school currently has an enrollment of 53 students and employs a staff of 5.
